The Chakra House is nestled in the jungle next to Man O’War Harbor. Surrounding the lodge you will see tropical vegetation, including, banana, plantains, cashew trees, papaya, and an abundance of tropical flowers. Located outside of the major tourist areas and away from heavy traffic you are guaranteed to experience peace and serenity.
The lodge has seven suites which can accommodate a maximum of 18 guests. We offer five suites that are double occupancy, and two family suites which accommodate up to 4 guests each. The suites are named after each of the body’s seven chakras. Unique to each suite is hand painted trim that depicts the chakra. The rooms feature locally grown Honduran pine floors, and the bathrooms offer custom tile with granite counters. Each suite in the lodge has hot water, air conditioning, ceiling fans, refrigerators and coffee makers.
You will find our commitment to Mother Nature was taken into consideration while building our lodge and resort. The roof of the lodge is notched to protect the surrounding trees, which means no trees were cut down to accommodate our building efforts.
To further support our approach to living lightly on Mother Earth, our sewer system is a three stage process. By the end of the third phase we have potable water used for irrigation of our gardens. There is no waste water from the lodge at Upachaya. In addition we’ve incorporated policies in our operations which include recycling; no single use water bottles; composting; no pesticides or herbicides used in the gardens; and sustainability by using the fruits, vegetables and herbs grown on the property in the meals served to our guests.
