One Day Roatan Yoga Festival

Upachaya Eco-Lodge and Wellness Resort was proud to be the sponsor and host for the One Day Roatan Yoga Festival held on Saturday, September 27, 2014.

Our event was well attended and received grand reviews from all the participants.  This festival, small but effective reached out to Roatan residents, and visitors alike.  We had 4 teachers providing a variety of different types and styles of yoga.  Participants got to choose 4 of 8 classes to attend, and enjoy healthy snacks, and a buffet lunch served around the pool.

Classes included: Dynamic Flow and Well-Balanced Yoga by Christeen Etches; Vinyasa Sculpt and Vinyasa Flow by Brooke Sears; One Love and Self Love by Michele Rauter; and Kundalini Awakening and Yin Yoga by Barbara Wastart.

Here is a brief preview of what we all enjoyed that day.  Roatan Yoga Festival Video.  Stay tuned, we had so much fun we are now in the planning stages for the 2015 Roatan Yoga Festival scheduled for April 25, 26.  This will be a two day, multi-venue event.

Brooke Sears:  Brooke fell in love with yoga when she was only 14 years old, when her mom introduced it to her. She is a certified yoga instructor who specializes in hatha vinyasa flow, correct body alignment, meditation, and pranayama (breath control).  She is passionate about meeting her students at their level and making them feel comfortable with a motto you’ll hear throughout class: “no worries, no judgement.”  She loves sharing yoga and connecting with people on a personal level. Take a yoga class with Brooke, and you will feel recharged physically, mentally, and spiritually

Iyenger.  Her classes offer a dynamic flow with modifications for beginners and advanced yogis.  She has been teaching yoga on Roatan for 14 years and loves to share in the joy and fun of practicing with Roatanians and tourists.  Christine truly believes yoga is for everyone and yoga should be whatever you need or want it to be physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
